An unexploded bomb weighing about 340kg was found at a construction site at 15 Cửa Bắc Street in downtown Hà Nội on Saturday evening. Workers preparing the foundation for an office headquarters building for the Power Transmission Corporation No. 1 found the bomb, buried two meters underground. They reported the munition to local authorities who restricted traffic and cordoned off the area. Officials in Truc Bach Ward and Ba Dinh District have mobilized teams to secure the scene until a decision is made by bomb disposal experts about safe disposition of the ordnance. There has been no announcement so far of any evacuation plans for people living in the neighborhood.
