Quang Tri Honors Project RENEW’s Dedication to Healing War Wounds

Project RENEW, a cooperative effort dedicated to restoring the environment and neutralizing the effects of the war, received well-deserved recognition from the local government of Quang Tri Province on Friday, January 26, 2024.

RENEW Coordination Manager Nguyen Hieu Trung, along with representatives from other foreign NGOs, proudly accepted a collective award from Quang Tri Province People’s Committee Vice Chairman Hoang Nam. The ceremony, held during a conference hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs to review foreign affairs in 2023, highlighted the significant contributions of RENEW and other foreign NGOs to the province.

Four individual staff members of RENEW were also awarded prestigious Certificates of Merit by the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, in recognition of their exceptional commitment and achievements: Victim Assistance/Disability Support Program Assistant Nguyen Thi Ai Luu; NPA/RENEW Provincial Operations Manager Mai Van Viet; EOD Team Leader Hoang Kim Chien; Field Operator Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh.

2023 marked another impactful year for Project RENEW, with notable achievements in educating communities on UXO safety, assisting affected families to improve their quality of life, and clearing deadly UXO in partnership with NPA Vietnam.

As the Lunar New Year of the Dragon approaches, RENEW remains committed to building a brighter future for the children of Quang Tri Province by addressing the devastating war legacies and promoting safety and prosperity.
