Clearing the Path to Safety and Recovery in 2026

As we move through 2026, communities impacted by explosive remnants of war continue to face daily risks that most of us can scarcely imagine. In post-conflict regions, land that should be used for farming, schools, homes, and economic growth remains unsafe due to landmines and unexploded ordnance. For families, this danger limits opportunity, threatens lives, and slows recovery long after conflicts end.

Despite these challenges, 2026 has already been a year of meaningful progress, and it is progress made possible because of you.

Turning Support Into Tangible Impact

Thanks to the steadfast generosity of Friends of Project Renew donors, our partners on the ground have continued critical clearance operations, returning land to communities where it belongs, in the hands of the people who live there. Every square meter cleared represents more than just land; it represents freedom of movement, renewed livelihoods, and the chance for children to play and learn safely.

In addition to land clearance, Project Renew has expanded explosive ordnance safety education, reaching children and families with lifesaving information. These programs help communities recognize dangerous materials, avoid accidents, and share safety knowledge with others, multiplying the impact of each lesson taught.

Restoring Independence and Hope

Another cornerstone of Project Renew’s work in 2026 has been support for survivors. Through continued investment in prosthetics, rehabilitation, and assistive devices, amputees are regaining mobility, independence, and dignity. These services do more than restore physical ability, they restore confidence, economic opportunity, and hope for the future.

Looking Ahead

While much has been accomplished this year, the need remains urgent. Vast areas are still contaminated, and millions of people continue to live with daily risk. The work ahead requires sustained commitment, partnership, and compassion.

Because of you, Project Renew is not just responding to danger, we are building safer, stronger futures. Your support in 2026 is helping transform once-hazardous land into spaces for growth, learning, and healing.

From all of us at Friends of Project Renew, thank you for standing with communities on the path from danger to renewal. Together, we are making lasting change, one cleared field, one educated child, and one restored life at a time.
