Gio Linh, Quang Tri (5 July 2023) — Clearance teams managed by Norwegian People’s Aid/Project RENEW on Wednesday discovered more than 200 pieces of unexploded ordnance while clearing a contaminated area in Ha Loi Trung Village of Trung Giang Commune.

NPA/RENEW Operations Manager Mai Van Viet and Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)instructors directed VNMAC trainees who were in the final week of an EOD Level 1 Course with NPA/RENEW to participate in the identification of the explosives.

All the munitions, confirmed to be save-to-remove items, were later transported by NPA/RENEW EOD team to our central demolition site for safe destruction.
